Leigh Freeman

Advisory Director

Leigh Freeman is an Advisory Director at Stanton Chase Denver. He has over 30 years of leadership experience in 30 countries, participating in all facets of mining, including exploration, project development, financing, production, and critical team building.

After leaving one of the large international mining companies where he served as chief geophysicist, he co-founded an internationally focused junior exploration company with financial support from Rio Tinto. Upon its acquisition, Leigh acquired a partnership position to manage the North American office for a global executive search firm specializing in the mining sector. Currently, he serves as chairman of a junior gold/silver company. He is intimately involved with mineral education.

Leigh serves on the advisory boards for mining and geological engineering programs at Montana Tech, the South Dakota School of Mines, and the University of Arizona. In addition, he works closely with the Society of Mining Engineers and the National Academy of Sciences on mining workforce issues.

Leigh holds a degree in geological engineering from Montana Tech in Butte. Gardening, golf, running, and four delightful grandchildren fill his spare time.
