Russell Kalam is a Partner at the Stanton Chase London office specializing in the Financial Services, Private Equity, and Natural Resources & Energy practices. Prior to joining Stanton Chase, Russell spent over two decades in various corporate and investment banking roles. Throughout his career, he has successfully built and grown businesses by blending in-depth commercial, industry, and product knowledge together with a genuine passion for the people side of the business, particularly talent acquisition, leadership, culture, and organizational strategy.
After graduating in Economics, Russell gained wide-ranging experience with leading international financial institutions, developing a strong network of contacts across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and the United States. During the first stage of his career in investment banking, he advised and collaborated closely with executive teams, including professional services advisers, to lead numerous strategic and high-profile transactions and assignments around the world. He recognized early on the critical importance of having the right people in place to accelerate businesses and shape high-performance cultures, benefitting both organizations and society.
In the second stage of his career, he became a Senior Banker and Sector Leader for Energy and Private Equity, advising C-level leadership teams and managing key relationships, applying his experience to define and solve complex problems by understanding and anticipating the core challenges and priorities faced by leaders and boards. Leveraging his knowledge of a diverse range of products and key functional areas, he brought multidisciplinary teams together to deliver exceptional performance for clients and stakeholders.
Russell has completed search assignments across all levels of senior executive and functional leadership positions, acting as a strategic partner and advisor to his clients. He brings extensive commercial, industry, and product expertise; direct experience and context of organizational and candidate requirements; and deep knowledge of the market and competitive landscape.
