Tony Bainbridge

After gaining classic ‘blue chip’ HR training in Mars and PepsiCo, Tony has held a variety of HR leadership positions at organizations including Novartis, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) plc, and most recently Wilmington plc. Additionally he served as Managing Director for CIBAVison France, the French market leaders in optical and surgical products for three years.

He has led major change programs including the carve out and sale into private equity of both BOC Edwards and Rexam Plastics, and the major reshaping of the business model at IHG across EMEA.

Most recently Tony took on the position as EVP, HR for Saxo Bank based in Copenhagen for two years to reshape and upskill the leadership cadre before returning to London to join Wilmington plc as Group HR Director in 2016. During his four and a half years in the position, the company underwent major change and the quality of leadership talent was raised significantly. Tony upgraded the HR function and was a key contributor to the organizational transformation of the Group. He oversaw the restructuring of the C-suite with the introduction of a new Chairman, CEO, and three further leaders and was instrumental in the Group’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tony left Wilmington in July 2020 in order to become an adviser on talent, leadership and organisational change. He is qualified by the British Psychological Society to administer a variety of leading psychometric tests and is based in the UK and Spain.
