>The Challenge

Recruiting for Human Capital Excellence

Our firm was retained to conduct an executive search for an Assistant Vice President (AVP) of HR to support HR and people strategy for the client. We were committed to promoting diversity and inclusion through the hiring process. The ideal candidate would bring hands-on and tactical experience in driving talent and HR strategy projects and programs, working in partnership with the global business. We sought a candidate with experience across multiple HR domains, including talent acquisition, human resources, compensation and benefits, learning and organization development. The successful candidate would have worked across multiple business segments and possess extensive expertise in HR analytics. The search was further distinguished by its emphasis on diverse perspectives and strong global stakeholder management capabilities.

>The Solution

Strategic Talent Acquisition

Our talent acquisition strategy built on the client’s core strengths in diversity and exceptional company benefits. We carefully mapped global capability centers in the banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI) space, seeking candidates who led people and talent strategy programs. Our search focused on professionals from top-tier institutions with broad HR experience across multiple sub-functions. The selection process was thorough and detailed, working with five promising candidates through multiple careful assessments. We closely examined each candidate’s previous projects, noting specific achievements and real-world impacts. To ensure a fair and balanced view, we involved multiple partners in reviewing and evaluating the candidates, creating a careful and objective selection approach. This systematic method allowed us to identify and present five top-quality candidates that closely matched the client’s talent needs.

>The Result

Investing in People Leadership

Based on our assessments, observations, insights, and candidate case studies, we presented five top candidates who went through six rounds of detailed evaluation by key leaders, including the India HR Head, APAC HR Head, Business Partner Peer Group, and India Country Head. Despite appreciating all the candidates we evaluated, they ultimately selected two as the best fit for their team. Our engagement with the top two candidates demonstrated our shared commitment and collaborative approach with the client. After the selection process, the client extended an offer, and we maintained active communication with the candidate, ensuring a smooth transition and ultimately a successful placement with our client.
